Elspeth Geronimos

Elspeth took her Foundation Year at Carlisle College of Art and Design in England and her first year portfolio was awarded the Year Medal. She was accepted into Central School of Art and Design in London (now called Central Saint Martins) in 1968 where David Hockney was the visiting lecturer. At that time he was working on his swimming pool paintings. The neo-realism impressed her and she developed a life- long preference for hard-edge clarity and story-telling in subject choice.

Subsequently Elspeth studied at Leeds University and Cambridge University with a BA and MA in Arts before leaving the UK permanently to work in Africa, the Middle East and the Far East in several countries, working for the British Arts Council and raising a family.

She now lives in Athens, Greece working principally as a portrait artist specializing in young children. She has also painted scenes of Athens and the surrounding areas extensively. Her current exhibition REACTIONS - paintings rom Athens 2010 - 2013 focus on the effects of the crisis on her city. Full exhibition notes and images on News & Updates.

Her private  commissioning clients are from Greece, Australia,  and the United States
