REFUND POLICY

We recognise that portraiture is a subjective process for both the artist and the sitter. For that reason the 50% deposit to commission a portrait is refundable if you are unhappy with your final portrait.

COMMISSIONING A PORTRAIT

Step 1 - Choosing an artist

Look at other work the artist has done. Talk to  people who have also commissioned them. If you have made the decision to commission a portrait with Elspeth Geronimos, contact her agent, Lisa Schwartz for an appointment.

Step 2 - Contact the agent

You may have some questions about the process, Lisa can put you in touch with the artist so you can clear them up directly. If you decide to go ahead, Lisa will organise a Commissioning Contract that will require a 50% downpayment and set up an appointment for your Play Date. Elspeth’s studio is in Greece but she travels frequently to meet clients all over the world.

Step 3 -  The Play Date

Your child will spend time with the artist, either at your home or somewhere you choose. The purpose is for her to get to know your child, to talk to you about your child and formulate ideas for your portrait. This is an interactive process and she welcomes any ideas you may have, any favourite photographs or images. She will also sketch and photograph on the Play Date.

Step 4 - During the painting process

Elspeth works from her studio in Athens, Greece, but will contact you after she has started composing your portrait if she is unsure of anything. She also will email the painting before completing in case you want to change anything.

Step 5 - Unveiling your portrait

Lisa will organise to have your painting stretched on a 32 mm wooden stretcher. Most people hang paintings directly. The canvas has been treated with a UV protecting varnish under a matt, satin or gloss varnish of your choice. She may also have set the framed canvas in a further framing structure of your choice. ANy extra framing is at your cost.

When she unviels your painting, usually at your house, she will receive the final 50% payment. ( please note our unconditional refund policy)

How much does a portrait cost?

What if I don't like the portrait?

How long will the whole process take?

This depends on the waiting list. On average, from signing the contract to receiving your portrait most people wait around 2 months.
